Global Capital Strategies (“GCS”), began operating as a Registered Investment Adviser in January 2018. Our firm traces its roots back to 2001, when we affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors as an independent investment advisory practice. The founder, Rakesh Khilnani, has over 28 years of experience in financial services including over 21 years’ experience as a Portfolio Manager. In mid 2019, GCS became part of Avestar Capital, a SEC Registered Investment Adviser, founded by Xerxes Mullan in 2017. Mr. Mullan has over 16 years’ experience as a Wealth Manager, 13 years of which were at Merrill Lynch. Our combined team’s strengths in Asset Management and Wealth Management allows us to provide our clients with independent, objective advice and improved scale.
There are three principles that drive us. Firstly, and most important, is our fiduciary duty to our clients. Client first – always, is our credo. As such, we have separated the functions of Asset Management, Custody of Assets, and Performance Reporting. Thereby, providing clients with investment advice in a fiduciary capacity, separated and secure custody of assets, and independent and transparent reporting of performance. Secondly, we have a global and multi asset class approach to investing. As almost half of the world’s economy lies outside of the United States, we scour the planet for opportunities, whether it be in Equities, Fixed income, Commodities, or Alternatives. Thirdly, we are dynamic and flexible. We adapting to changing investment environments and client needs. When tactically necessary, we take reverse market exposure; thereby, seeking golden opportunities at tops and bottoms of markets. We work diligently, in our clients’ interest, to be their most trusted adviser. As such, in most cases, we become their sole adviser.
This trifecta contributes to engaged clients, diversified portfolios, and risk-adjusted, long-term benchmark leading returns* that contribute to the increased probability of attainment of each client’s goals.
Our logo was inspired by these key principles.
